Trader lab is focused on the development of drug-like molecules and probes to monitor and perturb the activity of the proteasome. Small molecule probes, stimulators, and inhibitors are being generated to study the role of the standard proteasome and immunoproteasome in a variety of diseases. Her trainees are currently pursuing medicinal chemistry and chemical biology studies to develop new treatments for hematological cancers, proteasome stimulators to combat neurological diseases associated with protein accumulation, and new techniques to target the activity of the immunoproteasome.
