  5. Letter of Recommendation from a high school educator.

  • What Is Your Why Existential Question

    Essay 1: Personal Statement

    Please summarize the reasons that you are applying for this program, what you hope to gain by participating in YSFP, and how it fits into your future educational and career objectives. Please be sure to include any previous experiences and how they have contributed to or influenced your interest/motivation to pursue science (Limited to 800 words maximum).

  • Message With The Written Word Equity, Identity, Diversity, Inclusion

    Essay 2: Diversity Statement

    Please describe how your interests and background would contribute to diversity and why diversity is important for a research team and in science (400 word maximum).

Application Formatting

We cannot receive paper applications. All materials should be uploaded electronically. Letters of recommendation should be emailed to cri@uci.edu by the LOR submitter NOT the student applicant. Refer to the FAQ for further information if needed.

Selection Process

The selection committee includes graduate students, faculty, and staff who review each application for academic merit, sincere interest in the program and research related careers, and fit with program objectives.

Acceptance emails are sent out First Week of May 2024.
